Our collaboration with Dubai Municipality and MetaProp illustrates how DFDF ecosystem strategy works in practice. By investing in MetaProp, one of the world’s leading Proptech specialists, we anchored their first dedicated EMEA partnership and set the foundation for a dual-city program between Dubai and New York. Through this partnership, MetaProp will run a Proptech program that supports local Dubai-based companies and brings global best-in-class startups and talent into Dubai, giving founders access to two of the most important real estate markets in the world. DFDF acts as the connector: aligning investment, program design, and stakeholder engagement so that the companies coming through MetaProp’s platform are directly relevant to Dubai’s priorities and market needs.

In parallel, we established a collaboration framework with Dubai Municipality to attract and scale global PropTech and ConTech funds and high-potential startups that support the city’s urban, sustainability and liveability goals. Under this framework, Dubai Municipality shares strategic priorities and urban challenges, while we and MetaProp curate and channel solutions that can help address them. Together with key market stakeholders we are creating structured opportunities for testing and piloting selected solutions in Dubai, where feasible and appropriate, and for deploying successful technologies at scale. This tri-partite model (FoF, specialist fund, and strategic government partner) demonstrates how our capital-plus-ecosystem approach can turn Dubai into a global hub for PropTech and ConTech innovation, with clear pathways from investment, to program, to pilot, to deployment.
